My heart is heavy as I think upon the many conversations Aunt Goldie and I have had over the years and that those conversations will never happen again.
We could talk forever and never stop; she was well read and loved sharing what she read. We talked a lot about back home in Kentucky and all the people from the past – so many no longer with us and now she will join them as well moving on to a brighter place.
She always called me on my birthday and on the holidays or just called to check in to see how I was doing. She is one of the few people that did not wait to get a call but would call you just to see how everything was going.
Looking back over the past few months I think she knew it would not be much longer for her in this life. I remember her asking me not too long ago (a few weeks back) if there was anything, I wanted back when she passed so she could let her children know, I told her nothing but hoped that would be a long way down the road. I will always think of her as long as I live and treasure all the stories and history she shared with me.
Jon — Thanks for sharing your memories with our mom. I hope you and yours are doing well.
Julia
She was a neighbor of my mother’s. She will be missed.
