blackburn02Grace A. Blackburn 57, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at her home. She was born September 1, 1956 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to John D. Willis and Loretta Blackburn. In her early years she was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She was in the first group of the NWA Upward Bound program at the University of Arkansas. She attended Fayetteville High School. She worked at Wyatt’s Cafeteria for fourteen years, Tyson Foods for three years and Superior Industries in Fayetteville for twenty two years. She is preceded in death by her step father, Jack R. Carr; two step brothers, Ernest and Richard Carr; niece, Sasha Blackburn and nephew, leslie Blackburn Jr. Survivors include her two daughters, Akisha Jordan and Jameesia Sigears both of Fayetteville; father, John D. Willis and wife Earlean of Los Angeles, California; mother, Loretta Carr of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tyrus Taylor and Terrance Deans Jr. both of Fayetteville; five brothers, Lawrence Blackburn Lindsay Blackburn, Leslie Blackburn and wife Angelita , Tommie Jenkins, Stanley Blackburn all of Fayetteville; three sisters, Valerie Blackburn, Cynthia Jenkins and Onita Jenkins; three step brothers, Terry Carr, Jeff Carr and Kelly Carr all of Fayetteville; step sister, Juanita Carr of Little Rock and a host of nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM , Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Beards Funeral Chapel with Brother Steve West officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.     I have known Grace for approximately 25 years. She worked for Tyson at the time I did and that’s how I came to know Grace. Grace was a warm, wonderful person with nothing but good oozing from her soul. I will miss her terribly.
