Harrison Vanover, 87, of Elkins, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his home. He was born October 6, 1936 in Pettigrew, AR to Jack and Margaret Weatherby Vanover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Brenda Stewart; two sisters, Evelyn Pense and Fern Murray; two brothers, Allen and Harvey Vanover; three grandchildren, Tabitha Gilmore, Michael Gilmore and Brandon Combs.

Harrison was a rock layer in the construction business. He enjoyed working on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosie Turner Vanover of the home; two daughters Debbie Hernandez and husband Juan of Elkins, and Tina Vanover of Elkins; two sisters, Hazel Daniels of Farmington and Joyce Vanover of Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Beard’s Chapel with Pastor Jerry Henshaw officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service-time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Private interment will be in McCord Cemetery in Elkins under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
