Dec 22, 2023

Heather Ann Daniel peacefully passed away, at the age of 81, on December 11, 2023, at the North Hills Lifecare and Rehab residence in Fayetteville, AR in the presence of three loving angels. Heather was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942 to parents Hardy Daniel Sr. and Margaret Wynngate and grew up with her three siblings: Hardy Jr., Annie, and Margaret “Maggie” Daniel. They were raised primarily in Fayetteville, AR, with some of their youth spent in Southwest Arkansas.

Heather earned a B.A. in French at the University of Arkansas in 1964 and, shortly after, got married and traveled to Lebanon with her new husband. After a few years in Lebanon, she returned to Arkansas and began her public teaching career at Dardanelle High School. She spent several summers during that time back at the university in Fayetteville in order to earn her M.A. degree in English, completed in 1983. In 1984 she returned to full-time living in Fayetteville and taught English, French and Spanish at Rogers High School for the remainder of her long career. Heather loved living and teaching in Northwest Arkansas and also served on the Fayetteville City Council from 1992 until 2000. She enjoyed simple activities like attending the downtown farmers market and also enjoyed visiting family in the area, including her mother and stepfather’s homestead deep in the Boston Mountains.

Heather is preceded in her passing by her father Hardy Daniel Sr, mother Margaret Rule, stepfather John Rule, and her brother Hardy Daniel Jr. and husband Del Blake.

She is survived by her two sons Nicolas (Cornelia) Faddoul and Joseph (Becki) Faddoul along with 5 grandchildren and also leaves behind her two sisters Annie Laurie Cisneros and Maggie (Scott) Winters and their families.

A memorial service will be held at St Paul’s Episcopal Church (224 N East Avenue in downtown Fayetteville) on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:30 pm.

Heather and I served on City Council together for several years. We became very good friends. A highlight of our council days was a trip to our sister city in the Dominican Republic. We kept in touch for a while, but lost contact while she was dealing with Del’s troubles.
Today, I was curious and googled her. Sad to hear of her passing
    She was a thegood friend.
    She was an excellent person.
