Helen Beatrice Lewis, 91, of Elkins passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Fayetteville.  She was born October 20, 1924 in Altamont, KS. to Ted and Linnia Smith O’Neal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Edward Lewis and a brother, Kenneth Dareing.

She attended Elkins Schools, was a member of the Elkins Seniors Center, Elkins Home Demo Club, Quilting Club of Elkins, Church of Christ and the Elkins Firebells.  She was a housekeeper for Washington Regional Medical Center for 15 years.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Edith (Edie) Thomas of Tucson, AZ., Patsy D. Johnson of Elkins and Linnia (Jodie) Courtney of Benton, AR.; sister, Ellen Atha of Elkins; brother, Jack Dareing of Fayetteville; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Elkins Church of Christ with Randall Castleman officiating.  Interment will follow in Nickell Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

There is no scheduled visitation.

    Helen was always so sweet to my mom, Jessie Lee, and to me. I loved being around her and Ellen. Both remind me of our wonderful grandmother, Georgia Dunaway as does Patsy. May God comfort and encourage Edie, Pat, and Jodie and your families, your mom was truly a blessing to many many people.
