Howard Lee Boudrey, September 14, 1942~March 15, 2022

Mar 16, 2022

Howard Lee Boudrey was born September 14, 1942 in Aurora, Arkansas. He met the love of his life, our mother, Irma Lee Fitch at Huntsville High School and they’ve been together for over 60 years.  He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Dad retired from Fayetteville Fire Department as Captain after 22 years of service. He was also a skilled carpenter, a poultry farmer, and raised beef cattle. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, being with friends and family. He was always eager to tell a good story especially if he could make you laugh. He loved BIG and seemed to always be smiling.

He is survived by his wife Irma; his children Randy and wife Carol, Tim and wife Lisa, and Sheila Fitts and husband Billy; his grandchildren include Melissa Burton and husband Ben, Dustin Fitts, Melanie McKane and husband Chris, Blake Neil, Logan Boudrey, Spencer Boudrey, Jessica Brown and husband Bobby, Becca Celestine and husband Trey and great- grandchildren Ashtyn Burton, Kason Herlein, Brinkley McKane, and baby Zarah Celestine due to arrive anytime; also survived by his brother Jack and wife Pat; sisters Betty Williams and Norma Spotts; and many more family and friends.

Visitation will be at Beard’s Funeral Chapel, Friday, March 18, 2022 from 5-7 PM.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Vaughan Cemetery in Hindsville immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Ozark to honor his granddaughter Melanie’s battle with cancer or Fayetteville Firefighters Scholarship Fund, PO Box 10437, Fayetteville AR 72703.

My heart & prayers go out to all the family & friends of this sweet, kind, honerable man. He was a great friend to my Father and Mother, as well as a cousin to my mother & myself. They played cards & on many a weekend ended up @ Beaver lake or on Elk hunts near four corners. He found more then one job to feed his family. His love for Erma their family was paramount. They were such a sweet and congenial couple at every gathering I attended. They inspired love & warmth. Showed you how to raise a loving family full of faith & forgiveness. He will be missed in such a profound way by his family. But he raised them in such a strong way that I know they will lean on each other & know they will see him again in heaven. They will also have the strength from their parents’ raising to move on in this life & remember all the wonderful, beautiful memories of their patriarch. As a child I saw the three brothers “The Boudrey Boys” and their career @ the Fayetteville fire house as heroes to look up to and aspire to. I even dreamed of being one. They inspired a generation to look up, to public service and while doing that they all three held down multiple side jobs. Hard work ethic and the need to provide for their families was so ingrained in them. Showing us that they could work hard, play & love all at the same time. The Boudreys are my heroes. Howard was one of them. I am so honored to have witnessed his life. Howard will truly be missed. We send our condolences & sympathies to you in this most painful time. Remember all those great wonderful memories. He will be looking down from heaven, watching and waiting.

    Dear family,

My heart is broken hearing about the loss of our dear friend. Howard was a close friend of my Dad and dear friend to my husband and I for over 40 years. We will miss Howard but know he will be with us always. We know he will be looking down during hay season to make sure we get the crop in the barn.
