First, my deepest sympathy for Matt’s family. These are difficult times anyway, and to lose a family member so close only intensifies the sadness and pain. However, please know that Matt had a subtle, but profound impact upon all who knew him. Matt was a friend of mine for over 40 years, and all through those years, I never knew of him to Ever lie, cheat, steal, or brag… not once. What strength of character! Matt was authentic in every respect. A friend to all, he never met a stranger, and was generous to a fault. What selflessness! Just like his father, he was always quick to smile, but slow to anger. A deep thinker, Matt quietly contemplated life and reconciled it carefully with his strong Christian upbringing. Matt’s passing was a loss for all who knew him, but trust me when I tell you that he lives on as a force for what is good, decent, and just. Please honor Matt by being positive, helpful, and kind in all you do. He would like that. He mattered.

Matt was a great person and co-worker. Kind, receptive, great conversationalist, with a lot of knowledge to share. I will miss his presence and his wise words.
