Imogene (Jean) Corn Smith, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 in Fayetteville. She was born March 12, 1931 in Fort Gibson, OK to Roy M and Nevada Barnett.

She is preceded in death by her son Rick L Corn; her daughter Gail Branson; her brothers, John, Roy, and Frank; and her sisters, Blanch, Opal, Barbara, and Shirley.

Jean worked at the University of Arkansas for 25 years. She enjoyed Razorback sports, working in her garden, and spending time with her family and friends. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

She is survived by daughter Kristi Waddell and husband Robert of Springdale; grandsons, Sean Corn of Portland, OR, Lathe Corn and wife Sara of Bentonville, Jason Waddell of Springdale, and Christopher Waddell and wife Hannah of Rogers; granddaughter Tiffany Yokey and husband Paul of Winslow; great-grandchildren, Emily, Kyle, Aubri, Adalyn, Hills, and Evelyn; brothers, Bill, James, and Ross; and sisters, Linda and Brenda.

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; and loving friend to all.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Monday, November 24, 2025 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doug Falknor officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service-time on Monday at the funeral home.
