Mar 20, 2024

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Moran, 93, of Hollister, MO went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2024. She was born August 3, 1930 to Eloise and Dr. George Weil on August 3, 1930 in Chicago, IL.

Growing up Jackie was exposed to the Great Outdoors during summer family vacations to several of our National Parks, where she acquired a love of nature that followed her throughout her life. She was a Girl Scout and was one of the first troops to sell Girl Scout Cookies. She loved going to Lake Michigan for beach parties with her friends. Jackie graduated from Highland Park High School, IL in 1948. She soon met the love of her life, Bob Moran and they were married in 1951. They had 4 children together and moved to Deerfield, IL to raise their family. Jackie was a homemaker and a bookkeeper. She enjoyed archery, bridge, bowling, golf, gardening, camping with the family, and the Girl Scouts as a troop leader. Life took Jackie and Bob to Missouri in 1972 where they became the proud owners of Happy Hollow Resort on Table Rock Lake, MO. She loved to entertain family and friends at their new surroundings and became quick friends with many of the guests that stayed at the resort. There, she could live out her zest for nature and being outside. She enjoyed boating on the lake as well as jumping in the water for a float, or sitting on the patio watching the birds. In retirement, Jackie moved to Hollister, Mo with Bob, then later to Plano, TX and Bentonville, AR to live out her final years close to family.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents George and Eloise Weil; brother George Weil Jr; son David Moran; and husband Robert “Bob” Moran Sr.

She is survived by son Robert Jr and wife Jane Moran; daughter Debra and husband David Davidson; daughter Donna and husband Alan Clark; grandchildren, Bradley Davidson, BriAnna and husband Matt Phillips, Moranda Clark, April Clark, Linsey Clark; step-grandchildren, Jacquelyn and husband Warren Gatenby and Damon Williams and wife Kasey Rutledge; and great-grandson Pax Phillips.
