James “Tuffy” Thomas Harp, 90, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 in Springdale. He was born May 17, 1936 in Fayetteville to Hollie and Sylvia Mahurin Harp.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hollie and Sylvia Harp; his wife Billie Harp; a son Mike Harp; four brothers; and three sisters.
Tuffy had been employed at AmeriGas for 40-plus years. In addition, he had previously worked at Acme Janitorial for approximately 10 years. Tuffy attended the Lincoln and Prairie Grove Senior Activity Centers. He played on the Huggers Bean Bag Baseball Team of Prairie Grove. Tuffy was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by two sons, Rodney Harp (Fawn) of Siloam Springs and Josh Harp (Lacey) of Bella Vista; two brothers, Tony Harp of Bella Vista and Dale Harp(Betty) of Farmington; a sister Jeannie Mhoon (Ricky) of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Preston Beeks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service-time at the funeral home on Saturday.
Interment will follow in Dowell Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Tuffy was a great man.
Use to see him often when he worked for Amerigas.
He was a joy to be around.
What a great brother and so many good memories. We had a great time playing toss baseball, dances and eating together.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeannie and Tuffy’s Family. Tuffy was definitely a special man that will be missed greatly at the Prairie Grove Senior Center. In the short time that I have known Tuffy, he has impacted my life with his kindness and his smile!! Heaven has truly gained an Angel!!
