Jo Ellen Boyer, January 14, 1963~April 11, 2026

Apr 14, 2026

Jo Ellen Boyer, known to many as Jo Ellen Clark, 63, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on April 11, 2026, from a short battle with cancer. Beautiful in life and beautiful in death, she was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother whose lifelong faith in Jesus Christ completely shaped the way she loved, served, and gave herself to others.

Jo Ellen was born on January 14, 1963, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late George Allen and Betty Jo Davis. She had an infectious love for reading and books that she passed down to her children and grandchildren, and her love for the Bible ran deepest of all. She served faithfully in her church communities through small groups and nursery ministry and found simple joy in time spent with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, she made her home a place of constant welcome to people of all nations and backgrounds, open to anyone who needed to belong somewhere. Many who walked through the door never stopped calling her “Mom.”

She was preceded in death in 2019 by her beloved husband, Scott Clark, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage and raised four sons. Richly blessed in recent years with her husband Mark Boyer, she continued to pour herself into the people around her.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Boyer; her four sons and their families: Kirby Andrew Clark (Jennifer), and their daughters Rozz and Patsy; Clayton Joseph Clark (Lana), and their children Camella, Kellen, and Corrie; Seth Michael Clark (Stephanie), and their sons Henry, Dietrich, and Silas; and Nathan Davis Clark (Rachel), and their sons Abraham and Patrick. She is also survived by her siblings John, Todd, and Margaret, and was preceded in death by her brother George.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Fellowship Fayetteville, 3447 N Hwy 112, Fayetteville, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations close to Jo Ellen’s heart: 7Sisters International (https://7sistersinternational.org/get-involved) and the Harvest Church Book Fund (https://harvestfayetteville.churchcenter.com/giving/to/hcc-book-fund).

Cremation arrangements by Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

Jo was a tremendous blessing to me and my family, especially when Debbie had cancer. She watched our boys many times for us while Debbie had various treatments and procedures. Her sweet spirit was an encouragement always. It has been a real joy to be able to spend the last year or so reconnecting with Jo and Mark. What a joy to know she is at peace and with the Lord!

Although I had no personal relationship with Jo I certainly knew who she was and what she stood for from all of the wonderful stories I heard from her sister, Margaret
I know she was well loved, she lived a good life she never tried to harm anyone or do wrong
    To anyone!
She lived a life not only receiving, but giving much love to her husband and family, as well as her sister Margaret.
I know this family is feeling the huge hole that she has left behind and right now that hole feels like it’s in the center of your heart, but I pray God will replace it with beautiful fond memories that you still hold there of her, and when you think of her, I think she would want you to remember all the laughter, all the good times, all the fun and family time.
My prayers are going up for this family that God may hold and comfort you as only he can and give you special memories every time the thought of Jo comes across your mind
    God bless and much prayers

Mrs Clark was always so kind to me. When I was in cell group with Clayton, I always knew their home was open, warm, and where you knew right you’re welcome. This whole family influenced my life and faith in Jesus grew every time I was around the Clark family.

Jo Ellen has been a model of grace-filled faithfulness in my life for over 45 years. Knowing her has been a blessing from God. She leaves a lasting legacy in her beautiful children and grandchildren, whom she adored. Jo was a passionate student of the Bible and this defined every area of her life. Even in this incomprehensible illness, she never wavered from her faith. I will miss you friend ❤️

Jo Ellen has been my friend since jr high. We used to go to church with them in North Little Rock. Loved seeing those stair stepped boys walking in line. We would see them intermittently as both families moved to NWA. Jo was so kind, both when Nora had her cancer battle in 2014, and again with me in 2018 and 2022. She provided beautiful food trays. What a gift it is to have friends who you can pick up the conversation even after a long absence. May her memory be a blessing.

Mrs Jo and the whole Clark family had a lasting impact on my life. She mentored and took care of me multiple times in high school. Staying in their home and spending holidays. Through marriage she gave me books and talked to me about biblical marriage. She kept up with my crew and always sent sweet and encouraging messages. I’m so grateful for her impact and know how well she loved people and pointed them to the Lord. All the thoughts and prayers for her boys and their families.

Mark, what beautiful words to describe Jo Ellen! Even the short time we got to be in your home, she made us feel close … like family.
Our hearts ache, as we weep with you. We truly grieve, but not as others do, because we know we will see her again when Christ comes back! Until then … ❤️

Jo Ellen was a sweet, long time friend and mentor. As many have already said, she had a kingdom focus and lived her life with a Christ- driven purpose. We had the pleasure of being in a bible study at their home and the whole family impacted us in a very defining way. Jo’s faith was a genuine inspiration to me and her joy was contagious to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Jo Ellen, I will miss you dearly friend. I am heartbroken at your early departure, but I trust in God’s perfect timing and I will see you again…praying for Mark and all of the boys and their families.

I loved Jo so much. Our friendship goes way back before she met Scott. Her family was gracious and let me live with them when we were in high school. She was so sweet and kind, and I’m so very sad for all she left behind.

Mark, I’ve not met you—but my heart goes out to you. Thank you for all the love and prayer, support and updates. May God send His comfort for each day!

My sympathy and prayers also to the Davis & Clark families as you gather for Jo’s memorial! And hugs to the Magees, who lost such a cherished friend!

Jo was one of the most gentle persons I have ever known. Her quite, calm demeanor carried such a depth of wisdom, of walking with the Lord that is a rarity. Her love and depth is evidenced in her four sons and their families and in her love for Mark. It’s all so very hard to believe. She will be missed.
