Joe K. Watkins, Sr, 80, of Elkins, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at his home. He was born March 20, 1942 in Tennessee to Robert and Anne Lusk Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe Watkins, Jr; a brother, Robert Watkins; a sister, Reba Sharber; and a grandmother, Theora Watkins.
Joe retired from Shuler Autohaus after 35+ years of service. He enjoyed working cattle on the farm. He enjoyed being around his grandkids and great-grandkids. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Johnnie Ann Oliver Watkins; a son, Johnathan Watkins of Fayetteville; two daughters, JoAnna Farmer of Wisconsin and Jada Curran of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren, Paige Tucker, Payton Johnson, Lani Howard, McKala Fitts, Jacob Hoffman, Addison Watkins and Shelby Watkins; and 5 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

He was such a delight and fun watching him and Johnnie my dad and mom sitting around talking and laughing watching to see what they would get into next like kid’s never told him I loved him and that’s what hurts so bad RIP
