John Howard Burley, 60, of Rome, NY, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born February 27, 1961 in Ontario, OR to Dean and Thelma Roberts Burley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and being with family.
John is survived by a daughter Candace Burley of Fayetteville; a son Randal Burley of Fayetteville; two brothers Jeff Burley of Siloam Springs and James Michael of Springdale; a sister Jena Swan of Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
My prayers and thoughts are with John’s family. I had the priviledge of taking care of John for the last six years. He was the sweetest man that I have ever known, although stubborn at times. He touched the hearts of everyone who met him. He will be greatly missed by those who were involved in his care (Diedre, Mary and Joanne). He was not just a client to them but family. Until we meet again…love you
Hello Burley family– My name is John Phillips in Fayetteville, AR and I grew up with John. I’m very sorry for your loss and I hope John didn’t have to suffer in any way. My Mom made me aware of his obituary today so I just now read it. I lost track of John through the years and have always wondered what had happened to him and where he was at. I would have tried to make the services if I had seen this and known before the services even though I probably haven’t met any of you.
I’m proud that he served our country as I’m a veteran as well..
I really don’t know what else to say other than God Bless your family in this time.
