Johnnie Ann Watkins 75 of Elkins died Saturday, November 5, 2022 at her home. She was born February 4, 1947 in Spiro, Oklahoma to William and Georgia Baxter Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Kelly Watkins, Sr. and son Joe Kelly Watkins, Jr.
Johnnie was a teacher for Head Start for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross stitch and cooking. She especially enjoyed her family mainly the grandchildren.
Johnnie is survived by her children; son, Johnathan Watkins of Fayetteville, two daughters, JoAnna Farmer of Wisconsin and Jada Curran of Fayetteville; brother, Bruce Oliver of Lincoln and two sisters, Jamie Cavness of Westville, OK and Jeanine McCleland of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren, Paige Tucker, Payton Johnson, Lani Howard, McKala Fitts, Jacob Hoffman, Addison Watkins and Shelby Watkins; and 5 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Beards Funeral Chapel with Daniel Dickard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Olive Cemetery.

Watkins family. I cannot begin to find the words to offer for your comfort and peace. So, I will pray for God’s mercy to be overflowing to all of you at this time of loss.
Johnnie Ann and I were sisters ,not by blood but by heart. We loved Buckie beaver (her horse) . I will always cherish the memories we made over the years.

Oh my Johnnie was a very sweet woman, to me and my kids I always called her my mom because she took the place of a second mother to me. She was my co-worker at Headstart and we had many talks along with much laughter, I will miss your dearly mom and to all the family and my sis Jada stay strong I love you all with all of my heart
