Johnnie August Wright, 84, of West Fork, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 in Fayetteville. He was born August 9, 1939 in Wichita, KS to Frank and Marjorie Staples Wright.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Wright; his parents, Frank and Marjorie Wright; 9 siblings; and one granddaughter Madison Love.

Johnnie worked at the University of Arkansas Physical Plant as a painter for 39 years where he was credited with designing several versions of the Arkansas Razorback “Hog” (including Barnhill Arena and Bud Walton Arena). In his retirement years, Johnnie enjoyed gardening, building things in his workshop and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children Kevin Wright and wife Barbara, and their daughters, Ashley and Lauren Warren; Keith Wright and wife Tina, and their daughters, Emily Froud and Sarah Mathis; and Kelley Bragg and husband Clint, and her son, Gareth Evans; and 4 great-grandchildren, Truett Froud, River Evans, Hendrix Evans, and Magnolia Evans.
