Joseph Charles Parker, September 25, 1962~April 23, 2025

Apr 28, 2025

Joseph Charles Parker was born on September 25th, 1962 to Etta Parker (Campbell) and Joseph Lester Parker in Aurora, Missouri.

Joe spent most of his time as a kid causing mischief with his ample number of siblings and cousins. He loved sports throughout his life and was always looking for ways to turn simple things into contests or ‘bets’ making every moment a potential competition. Joe loved to tell stories, had an innumerable number of funny ones, and loved to tell jokes.

Joe met Kelly Bonnell in 1981 through mutual friends. The couple married and had two children, Kristi Sharpe (Parker) and Dayton Parker. As a family they spent many hours on ball fields and courts where Joe took an active coach and mentor roll. He had a real love for kids and was a gifted motivator who always knew what to say to someone having a tough time in sports or in life. Throughout his life, Joe held several supervisory positions at Superior Wheel, Rockline, and Cryovac. He befriended many coworkers over the years and never missed an opportunity to stop and catch up with anyone who he recognized in public. One of Joe’s greatest treasures in this life was his granddaughter, Stella Jane Parker, who he loved to play with and laugh with every chance he had.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Annette Bartholomew of Prairie Grove and  Vivian Johnson; and a niece Hailey Bonnelle.

Joe is survived by children Dayton Parker of Fayetteville, Kristi Sharpe (Parker) and Johnathan Sharpe of Elkins; granddaughter Stella Jane Parker of Fayetteville; brother John Parker of Prairie Grove; sister Kathy Brown of Prairie Grove; brother Charles Lester Parker and wife Norma of Monet, MO; sisters Debbie Crawford and Barbara Skinner, both of Monett, MO; and nieces and nephews, Natasha Marquez, Treva McNaught, Crystal Strack, Christina Skinner, Samantha Bartholomew, Derek Glover, Ryne Glover, and Kristen Glover.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5-7 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

Joe always had a kind word for everyone. Always willing to help when ever he so a need. When he lived next door he would offer to pay some one down on their luck to help him with his yard upkeep. Not that he needed the help, Joe enjoyed staying busy, he just saw someone that needed a hand.
Joe always had stories to tell, made up stories he’d try to tell me these were things that happened to him. He would laugh when I’d call him on it. We had some good conversations and good laughs. Joe loved his family more than anything else, he very proud Dad and pawpa
    RIP Joe
