Leon,
I known since 1990 at plumbing school as teacher. I visited him often after he retired. I considered him very good friend and I will miss him, Bill Dewberry
Thank you from the Porter Family.
I never meet Leon in person, but on the phone to the apprenticeship office he was a fun person to talk too. I never got off the phone without a smile on my face and never did he end the call without inviting me to visit whenever I was in NWA. I know he will be missed by a lot of people, and we lost a great friend and promoter of apprenticeship in Arkansas.
I met Mr. Porter when I started my career with ACEF. He was always gracious to me while I learned about apprenticeship. Very few people were as kind to me as he was during my first few years in apprenticeship and I am truly grateful.
My prayers and heartfelt condolences for your family and may God grant you peace, strength and mercy.
With our deepest sympathy.
Leon we loved you dearly and have missed our visits over jerky and pie!! The deer and birds have also missed you. Our prayers to your family.
My deepest sympathy is with your family during this time of loss. (Revelations 21:3-5)
I knew Leon thru the State Plumbing Apprenticeship Meetings, where Leon was the chairman for a long time. He was always a pleasant person to be around and truly helpful to me when I was new to learning about apprenticeship. I spent many times talking to Leon as he helped me understand the ins and outs of doing my job. He was always helpful and shared many of his hand typed forms with me. I smile as I think about him.
May the above referenced Bible promise console us all, until we are reunited with our friends and family that we have lost thru death. My thoughts and prayers are with You.

Losing my Father in Law leaves an empty void in my heart. With the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ “John 3:16” God in his mercy offers comfort. Meaning as long as we follow the Bible’s commandments we will all have a happy reunion in the Kingdom of God. Leon thank you for all that you have done for this Family and May we carry on in a manner worthy of your fine example. Love in Christ

From my childhood to my adult years in our neighborhood, Mr. Porter and family were the best possible neighbors. He’s been missed and will continue to be, but I’ll long cherish our pie and coffee sessions.❤️
