Kathy Jane Linzay, 61, of Fayetteville passed away January 1, 2012 in Fayetteville.   She was known by many as “Bird”.  She was born November 1, 1950 in Fayetteville, the daughter of Jim and Catherine Younkin.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville.  She was a registered nurse and held a bachelors degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas.  Most of her career she spent working as a nurse in the coronary care unit and later worked as a home health nurse.  She enjoyed gardening and was a devout Christian.  She will be dearly missed by many.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Coleman Younkin, her brother,   Bobby Younkin, and her niece, Amanda Younkin-Franklin.

Survivors include her daughters, Julie Linzay, of Fayetteville, and Rachel Kilpatrick and husband Denton of St Louis, MO; father and step-mother, Jim and Ada Younkin of Fayetteville; sister, Robin Younkin of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Jeanie Younkin of Fayetteville; nephew, Matthew Younkin and wife Michelle of Siloam Springs; niece, Lauren Younkin of Fayetteville; and a great-niece, Kimberly Younkin of Siloam Springs.

Funeral Services will be held Friday January 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Douglas Falknor officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday January 5, 2012 from 5-7pm at Beards Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
