williams-kyler-copyKyler Austyn Williams, 17, of Springdale passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Kyler was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 20, 1999 to Tysha and Rodney Williams.  He is survived by his parents, Tysha Williams and Rodney and Kimmy Williams; sisters, Makenzy Williams, Kayden Williams and Lily Dixon; brothers, Bralen Williams, Hudsyn Logue and Parker Dixon; grandparents, Oleta and Billy Carr, Ricky and Vanessa Watts, Rita Williams, Roger Jordan, Diane Hicks and Rick and Pam Grondin; great-grandmother, Edna Watts; godparents, Tony and Jennifer Johnson; aunts and uncles, Tyra Williams, Andy and Paige Watts, Jeff and Kristy Calvert, Cody and Lyndsey Bird; and numerous cousins and many friends.

Kyler was an avid sportsman who enjoyed doing anything in the outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, basketball and of course football. He was also an excellent student athlete on the field and in the classroom.

He was a member of Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville, AR, and always enjoyed going to summer camp at Camp War Eagle.

Kyler always had such an incredible impact on everyone that he came in contact with, especially children to whom he knew looked up to him. He will be greatly missed by not only his family and teammates, but the community as well.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Christian Life Cathedral Church in Fayetteville.  Interment will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Springdale.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springdale High School Athletic Department.

I had Kyler first period and we talked hunting and fishing every morning. Kyler was always talking about hunting at his Grandpas in Kingston, and since I have family in Kingston we shared deer, bear, and fishing stories about the area. Kyler had just shared bear pictures and some of his Grandfather’s deer jerky with me. I had plans on teaching Kyler how to European mount the first deer he killed this year. We talked, laughed, watched hunting videos together, and always discussed football. Kyler was one of the finest, most caring, and loving young men I have ever met. Kyler made a difference in my life, and serves as an inspiration as I continue teaching and building relationships with students at SHS.

I love Kyler. I pray for your family. I pray that God provides comfort and understanding. I pray for healing for family, friends, and the students of Springdale.
    Many blessing,
    Chad Burkett

God Bless your family. I never met Kyler but you should be so proud that he was able to impact so many lives in such a short time on this planet. I can not heal your pain but I do hope you see the good even in such tragic times like this. Your son had such a great impact on the entire NWA community that he managed to unit us and bring all of us together like family without even being here. If he can do that from the spirit I can only imagine how great he was as a being. I graduated from SHS in 2008 and we have had our share of tragidies since and during that time but I have never seen such unity and togetherness like your son was able to bring. You must be great parents and so very proud of Kyler. I am proud of him and I didn’t even know him, I sure wish I would have though. May God be with you and your family and I look forward to one day meeting Kyler and your entire family when we get to heaven. God doesn’t make mistakes but I bet he is worried about his job with your son being right beside him 🙂 I wish you all the best in this world and hope you can pull through the best that someone can given the circumstances.. — Sincerely, Hesten Ogden

Rodney and Family, I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful boy. I hope that the overwhelming support of the community gives you at least a small bit of comfort. I had a friend in Springdale reach out to me because she knew we were friends, her exact words were “The whole town of Springdale is in shock and in mourning.” That speaks volumes about the boy you raised up and how loved he was by everyone. I know you take comfort in knowing he loved the Lord and he is flying with the angels now until you all see him again. Praying for you all. Love you.

Mrs and Mrs Williams , I jus want to say Kyler was a great person who loved football as he loved playing the sport with his brothers. I’ve been watching him perform on the field since he was playing George Jr High . He was a beast on the field and on the court. Last Friday, the game which turned out to be his best. I had the opportunity to play aside as I ran the ball 74 yards down the field. Without kyler it only would’ve been a short run but your son made the corner tired which helped me out a lot then as I got tackled in the end zone your son told me something that would last a lifetime in my heart, he said ” Good job boy, keep doing that and you’re going to something ” well now that he’s gone I’m going to make sure I’m going to keep doing that. I loved kyler and miss him like if he was my brother .
    Sincerely, JLo#21

I had the privilege to Coach Kyler in his first year of football as a 2nd grader. It was a 2nd and 3rd grade team, I was coaching because my son Jack was playing. Kyler played Receiver and Corner. He was so full of energy and a total pleasure to Coach and that smile could light up a room. Since it was his first year to play football he was learning the game. I remember him blocking and tackling the receiver when he played Corner, he loved contact and he understood Football was s game of Contact with another player. We had to remind Kyler when u play corner you got to get away from the receiver and go tackle the ball Carrier and he started understanding the game better and better with each practice. Also Zak Clark helped me coach the team and that was Zaks first year to coach as well. It’s funny how Zak and Kyler started together, Kyler as a player and Zak as a coach. Several years passed and I hadn’t seen Kyler in a while. I think he played the Springdale league, but when he was in the 7th grade he was back playing in the Boys and Girls club league. I remember being at the draft and none of the other Coaches knew Kyler. I knew him and knew he was a good athlete. I picked Kyler with one of my late pics. He played great that year. Infact we had a great team that was undefeated and we were playing another team that was undefeated in the championship game. The team we played was Taylor Powells team and everyone knows how good Taylor is. There team had great coaches and we knew the game was going to be a war. Our coaches got together, because we knew it was going to be a huge challenge to stop their passing game. Our game plan was this. Put Kyler on the weak side outside linebacker and go tackle Taylor Powell whether he had the ball or not just go tackle him. Kyler was quick, fast and had a nose for the ball. So when the game started Kyler was all over Taylor and he couldn’t get a pass off. He had 7 or 8 sacks and it was a performance to remember. We won the game that day and went undefeated and Kyler was the secret weapon that pulled that game off. Every kid dreams of a undeafeated season and Kyler got his. 4 years later my son Jack got to throw passes to Kyler with Zak Clark as their Head Coach and it was something to watch. They didn’t win every game but they developed a friendship and a connection on the football field and they took the Red Dogs to the playoffs and that hadn’t happened in 4 years. Kyler was a great Kid, person and he loved the Lord and in the end that’s the true undefeated season. Rodney and Family, I am so Sorry for your Loss Kyler was a great kid and I will never forget the impact he has had on me. God Bless Lyndy Lindsey
