L.D. Watson, 71, of Elkins, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2014. He was born in Springdale on January 4, 1943.
He was a Christian man and an important good friend to the Elkins community.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Doris Watson; sisters, Anna Lee Drennon and Beck Evinger; and brother, Ed Watson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Roark and Mike of Springdale; son, John Watson and Valarie of Springdale; brother, Ray Watson of Liberty, MO.; sisters, Jenny Koch of Springdale; and Louise Stewart of Elkins; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held 10:30 A.M at the Elkins Community Center on Friday, September 12, 2014. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the community center. A meal will immediately follow the service.

I didn’t know Mr.Watson very well but I could tell he was a sweet soul. My sympathies to the family.
L.D. is missed very much. One memory keeps going through my mind. That of L.D. and Doris playing with Randy and Marty’s toys and them at Christmas time in North Carolina during the time they lived with us while L.D. was in school. He was always very special to us. Gods blessings to all the family.

I never had the opportunity to know L.D. very well, but he was a cousin as I am Mae (Watson) Neal’s daughter. I know my Mother always enjoyed seeing L.D. during her lifetime.

Sorry for your loss. I always thought Uncle John and Aunt Fine had one child, LD Watson. Uncle Francis Watson took me to the John Watson family reunion in the early 80’s. I got to meet his brothers and sisters. When I think of LD and Doris they were the perfect couple, always laughing and smiling.
