Lawrence James Simon, 58, of Springdale, AR passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Springdale.  He was born December 9, 1962 in Lake Charles, LA to Ivory and Hazel Bellard Simon.  He was preceded in death by both parents and one son, Van Keith Simon.

Lawrence worked as a car detailer for many years and he also trained horses.  Lawrence loved family and adored all of his grandchildren. He was baptized in 1978 at Combs Street Church of Christ.

Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Marquetta LeBlanc and ShaTasna Wright both of Fayetteville, AR; two sons, Shametrius Wright of Fayetteville, AR and Martre Shalon Simon of Springdale, AR; four brothers, Grifford (Sherrye) Simon, and Antoine Simon both of Springdale, AR,  Richard (Crystal) Simon of Joplin, MO, Joseph (Phyllis) Simon of Crossett, AR; one sister Romona (Hershell) West of Fayetteville, AR; a stepsister Shranell Rodriguez and a stepbrother James (Kim) Wilks both of Fayetteville, AR; a stepmother, Rubbie Simon of Fayetteville, AR and an ex-wife and longtime friend, Madonna Harbor; his girlfriend of 20 years, Kay Balentine; six grandchildren, Keyvonte’ Washington, Maddison LeBlanc, Isabella Thomas, Jaxston LeBlanc, Isabella Chaboude, Tiana Balentine, and a host of uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2021 “for family only” at Combs Street Church of Christ.

There will be a visitation period from 10:00 AM until service-time (for friends) at the church on Saturday.

Cremation arrangements by Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

    I briefly knew Lawrence. I met him while he was working with Marvin Jordan on township in Fayetteville.
    Always respectful and friendly, a really nice person. My sympathy to the family members.
