Leon Tisdale, 90, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his home. He was born April 13, 1926 in Fayetteville to Dewey and Julia Baker Tisdale.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having seen action in the Philippine Islands during WWII; was an M.P. in occupied Japan and served state-side during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Altis Tisdale of the home; his children, Gary Tisdale and wife, Kathy of Kingfisher, OK, Dewey Tisdale and wife, Brenda of Fayetteville and Judy Ross and husband, Mike of Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Beard’s Chapel with Luke George officiating. Interment will follow in Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the funeral home.

Family I worked a lot of years around Leon, he was a great man, I will be out of town and can’t Come but my prayers are with you.
Sorry for you loss, I sure had a lot of respect for Leon or Pappy as we called him, I will be out of town and will not able to come to the service. My prayers for the family.
