We are so sorry to read about Linda’s passing in this morning’s paper. You all have our deepest sympathy. We go way back to the early days at Little Red School where Denise and our Lisa were friends. At that time, Linda gave me some of her houseplants when she and her family moved to Arkansas. Our second daughter, Lynnda Jean was named after Linda!
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

I had the privilege to know Linda and Dennis during their tenure as Therapeutic Foster Parents for Ozark Guidance. It was always enjoyable to visit with them. The Burracks were willing to care for children with very difficult behaviors, often those who had been rejected by other agencies. Linda had a very kind heart, and lots of exceptional skills for parenting the children/adolescents in their home. She will be missed by many, and remembered always for the love and dedication she showed for the many years she was a foster parent. With sympathy, Vicky Strange

So sorry to hear of your loss. Linda was Mom’s best friend for all those years when she needed a best friend most. The years that Denise and Patty were on DrillTeam at Ramay – those teenage years. I can remember them being on the phone for hours. Our family has always thought a lot of your family. Again, so very, very sorry for your loss. You’ve been in our thoughts and prayers.

    Denny,

My deepest sympathy for your loss–Linda. I had a precious moment in time a couple years back to visit with your dad–he talked much of his family and memories. I do think of your family and those memories of our past often. Your loss makes those memories so much more precious.

    Dennis and Denise,
I am so sorry to hear about Linda passing. I had no idea she was ill. I have fond memories of working with her, and both of you, as a foster family. Linda would say yes to hard cases and would always hang in there when things got tough. She helped girls who were scared and anxious feel welcome in your home. She said yes in the middle of the night when I would call looking for a placement. She made a difference in girls lives. Sometimes you don’t know when it is important to someone else. I would say the girls, now young women, would say it made all the difference to them. Thank you for all you did, and I think Linda will have a special place in many hearts, including mine.

Dennis, I do not know if you remember me, but Linda and I grew up together in Rock Falls, and she was at my house a lot when we were young. I remember coming out to see you at your house outside of Rock Falls before you moved to Arkansas. Another girl we grew up with in Rock Falls that now lives in E Washington, called me to tell me about Linda. She was back in Mondovi visiting her sister and had heard about Linda’s passing so wanted to let me know. I was so shocked, and my prayers are with you and your family. I have not heard from Linda in almost ten years, so I had no idea what she was going through. We had many good times together, and I remember them as very special. Please extend my sympathy to your family, Roxanne and Charles, as well.

    Denise, Dennis and Nicholas,
I know this isn’t very timely but I am so sorry to hear about Linda’s passing. Denise and I have been friends for 25 years and remember her fondly at how excited and over the Moon she was when Nick was born. A great lady, I am so sorry. I hope Denise will get a hold of me at my provided email. Love, Shelley

Dennis and Denise I don’t know if you will remember me but I was placed in foster care with you and Linda in 1982.. I have been thinking a lot about those times, not sure why but I was quite upset upon learning of Linda’s passing… you guys gave me an amazing outlook on life and I wish I would have kept in better touch… I will keep you in my prayers..
