Lucille Powell, 89, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 22, 2021.  She was born August 24, 1931 in Dutton, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Powell in 1996; her parents, Huey C. and Dorothy Patrick; and brothers, Gerald and Leon Patrick.

Lucille was a 1949 graduate of St. Paul High School where she was a member of the basketball team.  She was a gardener at her home and a maker of beautiful pottery.  She was a homemaker and a Christian.

She is survived by three sons, James Powell and wife, Joy, Edward Powell and wife, Angelia and Steven Powell; a brother Tommy Patrick; 4 grandchildren, Misty Bryant, Burl Tucker and Christopher and Jacob Powell; 10 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wally Vanderlip officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

There is no scheduled visitation.

    Sorry for your loss. I only saw her a couple of times but we were first cousins l knew Tommy a little better.

      I did Lucille’s hair for many years and enjoyed her friendship. We went shopping when we could and always had a great time. Prayers for the family. I missed her when she moved back to Fayetteville.
