Dec 30, 2019

Marion Willard Icenogle of Fayetteville, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 3, 2019.  He was born on April 29, 1930 and was raised in the farming community of Schuyler County, Illinois.  In 1950 he joined the Air Force and was a Korean War veteran.  During his military service, he was stationed at Oscoda (Wurtsmith) Air Force base in Oscoda, MI where he would meet his future bride, Patricha Jane Hill from Tawas City, MI. They were married on July 18, 1953 and moved from Michigan to Illinois when he left the military in 1954.  He went back to farming until 1966 and then made a career change to become a farm implement mechanic at a local International Harvester dealership moving his family to Knoxville, IL.  In 1984, after their five children graduated from high school, our parents moved from Knoxville, IL to Fayetteville, AR.  Dad secured employment at Baker Equipment on E. Huntsville Road until his retirement.

Our father was the next to the youngest of twelve children.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland and Mary Jane Icenogle, his four brothers (Raymond, Jasper, Robert, & Gerald), his seven sisters (Gladys, Mildred, Helen, Dorris, Norma, Lucille, & Marilyn), his wife Patricha, and their infant son Marion Willard Icenogle, Jr.

He is survived by his five children Cheryl (John) Simpson of Ft. Worth, TX, Teresa (Dan) Skinner of St. Augustine, IL, Glenda (Bruce) Lincoln of N. Henderson, IL, Lawrence (Candy) Icenogle of Fayetteville, AR, and Randall (Laura) Icenogle of Farmington, AR, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on December 6, 2019, which was our mother’s birthday, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.  Roger Curtis officiated and military honors were provided.

Thinking of “Uncle Buck” brings back wonderful childhood memories. He was always happy and smiling. I regret not getting to know him better as an adult. It is sad to say goodbye to the last of a generation. My condolences to the family.
