Martha Clydean Slape Tankersley, 85, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on May 8, 2026. Born on August 18, 1940 to John Thomas Slape and Ora Ethal Frederick Slape.

Martha married Bobby Lee Tankersley in December 1956 and spent her life as a homemaker.  Over the years she enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery, playing piano and was a dedicated lifelong Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents John and Ora; siblings Frank, Lucy Dale, Nolan, and Rosa Lou; and children Judith Kay Yeager of Huntsville, AR, Michael James Tankersley of Springdale, AR, and Denise Annette Burks of Hindsville, AR.

She is survived by her daughter Bobbie Dean Mayo of Springdale, AR; twelve grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held graveside at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, AR on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 am.
