Marrs copyMarvin “Jim” Marrs, 69, of Ozark, AR passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Ft. Smith. He was born April 6, 1948 in Springdale.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam War.  He worked at Cooper Electric for over 40+ years.  He was baptized through the Church of Christ church.  Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jim is survived by his wife, Connie Sue Kruse Marrs to whom he was married for over 47 years; a daughter, Michelle Marrs of Fayetteville; a grandson, Brandon Leftwich and his fiancé, Kailie Schafer of Prairie Grove; and 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Macie Leftwich.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel with the Reverend Jasper Hankins officiating.

Private interment will be in the Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

    I am so sorry for your loss, I have known Jim for over 45 years. He was a good co-worker and friend. He was my Marine brother and we spoke of this often. Jim will be missed by all.

    Time sure got away from me.. My childhood and the school bus ride was awesome do to Jim. He came to our house often.. Over the years I thought about him often and spoke of him from time to time. My father adore him. There was 5 of us.. He was just loved by us all.. I live in Florida and wished I could have stayed in contact with you all.. I met you once or twice.. So sorry for your loss..
