Mary Susan Carr “Miss Mary”, 73, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home. She was born January 26, 1949 in Fayetteville to Ellis Dean and Roberta
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Roberta; a son, Darius Lee; brothers, Rodney, Bobby Joe and Charles Andrew.
Mary fought a brave battle when diagnosed with breast cancer. She attended Susan G. Komen races as a volunteer. She really enjoyed the sisterhood.
Mary Susan graduated from Fayetteville High School Class of 1967. Later she became a Fayetteville district bus driver where she found her calling. She enjoyed being around all the students who rode her bus. While working for the school district, she applied at Walmart and became a Walmart associate. Known as Miss Mary until she retired after a 20-year tenure.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing, two sons, Christopher and Michael; a brother, William (Bill) Carr of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Laura (Toofer) Carr, Barbara Carr and Gail duBoise; nieces, Kandace, Bridgett, Andrea, Kecia, Hope and Melissa; nephews, Alex, Matthew, Duane, Rodrick, Alex, Chancy, Michael and Reggie; granddaughters, Kayla and Madison Achorn; multiple cousins; and many good friends.
Mary Susan, you’re at peace now, REST WELL!
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel with Steve West officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Cemetery.
There is no scheduled visitation.

Miss Mary served as my children’s bus driver while they were in elementary school. She was always so kind and loving. My family is thankful to have been blessed by knowing her. She was such a wonderful lady.

She was my bus driver most my life. I saw her laugh and smile with us but when we got outta hand we knew she meant business. I thought of her recently so this breaks my heart. Sending prayers for family
