Mikel Dee Shepherd, 48, of Elkins, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his home. He was born September 21, 1976 in Springdale to Harold Dean and Pamela Jane Lee Shepherd.

He was preceded in death by his father Harold Dean Shepherd; a sister Marcie Leann Shepherd; and a step-granddaughter Paisley Cook.

Mikel was a member of Crosses Community Church. His passions were cutting timber and super late model races. He enjoyed hunting ginseng.

He is survived by his wife Michelle Grant Shepherd of the home; a daughter Madison Shepherd; his mother Pamela Jane Hankins of Crosses; a stepdaughter Rebecca Duffy; a stepson Shelby Phelan; two brothers, Marty Shepherd and wife Melissa of Crosses and Cody Shepherd and wife Ashley of Crosses; a sister Jennifer Shepherd of Fayetteville; two stepsisters, Kimberly Ritchie of Combs and Nicole Pryor of Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Crosses Community Church, Crosses, AR with Pastor Rex Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in Brannon Mountain Cemetery.

There is no scheduled visitation.

    Mikel was always good to me when we were kids growing up we hung out a lot. He taught me how to ride his banshee which we both thought was the coolest machine ever.
    I also had some good trips in his old 72 Chevy truck I think it was took me to razorback basketball games and things like that. He will be missed, prayers for the family.
