Lucille Smith, age 91, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on August 4, 2026 from age related causes.
Born on June 24, 1935 in Vienna, Missouri, Lucille was the youngest daughter of Warren and Eunice (Bassett) Gillispie. She graduated from Sheldon High School in Sheldon, Missouri. Lucille’s work career was centered around helping others and she did that so well. Throughout her life Lucille was known for her deep faith, steady devotion to family, and the warmth she extended to friends, neighbors and everyone that she came in contact with. Her family will forever carry her love forward. We take comfort in knowing she’s now with Jesus fully healed and restored. Her legacy of faith, love and service will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie (Glen) McEwen, Ruth (Roger) Ling, Lorraine (Loren) Rice, Donald (Florence) Smith and Jackie Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Charles Richard Smith and her sister in law and brother in law Carole (Charley) Rogers. She is lovingly remembered by her children Rick (Kim) Smith, Susan (Tom) Addington, David (Robyn) Smith and Jayne (Gregg) Larson.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kelly Grace, Charlie Smith, Kim (Brax) Watkins, Sally (Carlos) Acosta, Joel (Cari) Addington, Sarah (Chris) Sfamurri, Bjorn (Emily) Larson and Anders (Kati) Larson.
Lucille was also blessed with 14 great grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy. She is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
The family extends special thanks to the compassionate staff of Circle of Life Hospice and to Lucille’s devoted team of caregivers from Langford Assisted Living in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
In accordance with Lucille’s wishes there will be no funeral. The family is planning a small gathering and Celebration of Life for her at a later date.

Aunt Lucille was such a loving and caring person to all she met. Her and Richard had such a wonderful life together and shared that life with many people in service to the Lord. She is dearly loved and will greatly be missed. Love ya aunt Lucille and we’ll see you in Heaven. ❤️❤️❤️
Lucille was “love incarnate” for the children and youth of West Homestead! I pray that much love will be returned to her precious family during this time of grief!

Lowell and I are so saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. You all were so blessed to have her. It is so difficult to lose a mother and grandmother but such a blessing to know she is is the arms of Jesus and well. Blessings and prayers.
