Morris Lee “Jess” James, 77, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away October 18, 2024.
Born on November 1, 1946 in Lovington, New Mexico, Jess was the son of Leslie Morris and Jasma Burnett James. He is survived by his sweetheart Patricia Smith of Fayetteville; his son Matthew (Anitra) of Moore, Oklahoma; his daughter Michelle (Randy) of Shawnee, Oklahoma; his brother Kenneth (Arline) of Farmington, New Mexico; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jess was retired from the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S Lt. Col. Leroy Pond Ave., in Fayetteville. Jess was a sweet man and we were fortunate to have known him. Sending prayers and hugs to the family. Jess will be forever in our hearts and will be truly missed.
i didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Jess, but know his sweetheart, Pat, and if she chose Jess, he had to be a first class guy. praying for Pat and rest of family during this time.
