Nellie B. Wagnon, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in Fayetteville. She was born January 2, 1933 in Mountainburg, AR to Walter and Mandy Davis Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband L.D. Wagnon; and three sons, Lloyd, Wayne and Stephen Wagnon.
Nellie was a great mom and friend. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and doll maker. Nellie loved working in her flower beds. She was a volunteer at the Fayetteville Senior Center for many years and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Nellie loved to play bingo and dominoes and enjoyed painting. She was crowned Miss North Hills Beauty Pageant winner and District 3 runner-up at Little Rock pageant.
She loved her life, her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, family, and friends. Nellie will be missed greatly but now she can be with her husband again.
Nellie is survived by her daughter Mary House and husband Lance of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren, Angela, Ashley, Hayden, Misty, Clay, Sam, and Michael; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2026 at Beard’s Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to local animal shelters or any senior center.
Mary and Lance, I am so very sorry of your Mom’s passing. Miss Nellie was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was a delight to visit with and eat french toast with. It was an honor to be her friend.
She may have been a crowned Queen, but one of her biggest accomplishment was raising a wonderful daughter.
Rest In Peace Miss Nellie. You will be missed.
I am so sad to hear of your mom’s passing Mary, and Lance. She was a sweet, beautiful and fun lady. I still have several of her paintings, which brings me such joy.
She will be missed, and eternally loved. She will be with all her family that passed on before her. God has her in His loving arms.
