Norman Albert Weiss, 72, of Winslow, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas.
Norman was born on December 4, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Helen and Eli Weiss. After graduating from high school, he attended trade school in Philadelphia, where he developed a lifelong love of Grateful Dead music and cars.
From there, Norman lived a nomadic life, traveling to different places, camping, and enjoying life on his own terms. Eventually, he found his way to a cherished piece of property in the country near Winslow, Arkansas, where he put down roots and called home for more than 30 years. He loved every bit of the life he built on that quiet, quaint piece of land.
Norman was truly one of a kind—a quirky, curious, independent man with a mischievous spirit who was never afraid to do things his own way. Throughout his life, he was known for his ability to fix just about anything, his willingness to go on an adventure, and his talent for living in the moment with his own unique humor and determination. He loved his dogs and birds, motorcycles, music, and the freedom of the open road.
His lifelong love of motorcycles included both riding and working on them, and he eventually became a member of his beloved motorcycle club. Music was another constant in Norman’s life, and he amassed a large collection of vinyl records that reflected his passion and personality.
When Norman met Robin, his life became much bigger. He will be remembered for the way he loved her—even if he never missed an opportunity to give her a hard time. With Robin came a large, loud, and often wild family, and Norman may not have always known exactly what he was getting into. There were certainly times when he may have wanted to run, but in the end, he found his place and became part of the family for the past 27 years.
Robin’s children looked up to Norman as a father figure. He showed up, offered help when he could, and became someone they could count on. He may not have always done things the conventional way, but he loved his family in a way that was unmistakably his.
Norman is survived by his wife, Robin; his stepchildren, Tiffani (Keith), Lisa, Kari (Rick), Frankie (Amy), David, and Nikki; daughter-in-law, Megan; grandchildren, Nyle (Haven), Emily, Ryan, Brayden, Kalieb, Madison, Steven, Ricky, Kaiden, Khloe, and Miller; brothers, Ritchie (Linda) and Marc (Arlene); nieces and nephews, Matthew (Brittany), Jason (Robin), Joy (Scott), and Zachary; four great-nephews and two great-nieces; as well as many friends who became like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Eli; his uncle, Sam; and his stepson, Richard.
An informal visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Beard’s Funeral Chapel, 855 S. Happy Hollow Road, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
There will never be another Norman. He leaves behind a family who loved him, countless memories, many stories, and several friends whose lives were touched by his unique spirit. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
The world’s a lesser place now. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
