Omer “Dean” Parrish, 92, of Fayetteville died August 26, 2014 in Fayetteville. He was born December 9, 1921 in Brentwood, AR. to Norman and Sevilla DeVore Parrish.
He was a WWII Army Veteran; retired from the V.A. Hospital as a masonry carpenter; and was a Church of Christ minister for 60 years.
His wife, Opal Parrish preceded him in death.
He is survived by sons, Garry Parrish and wife Janet of Eads, TN., Gerald and wife Brenda of Mt. Juliet, TN., and Charles and wife Nancy of Goodlettsville, TN.; daughters, Norma Posey and husband Dave of Fayetteville, Nadine Huddleston and husband Mike of Fayetteville, and Nedra Crider and husband Mike of Smithville, VA.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ with Minister Bobby Dockery officiating. Private interment will be in Black Oak Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until service-time at the church. Memorials may be made to Gospel Tracts International/Baldwin Church of Christ, 4377 E. Huntsville Rd., Fayetteville, AR. 72701.

To the Parrish family, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss. I hope your memories of happy times with Dean will in time overcome your sorrow. And may the resurrection hope offered by the apostle Paul encourage you:” And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous>” – Acts 24:15.
