Opal Viola Parrish, 91, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, December 16 , 2012 in Fayetteville. She was born March 24, 1921 in Brentwood, Arkansas the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Hutchens Jamerson.
She was a member of the Greenland Church of Christ. Attended a one room school house at Black Oak, Arkansas and worked as a Cook for the Greenland School System.
Preceded in death by both parents, 2~brothers and 2~sisters.
Survivors include her husband, O.D. Parrish of the Fayetteville; 3~daughters and 3~sons, Norma Posey and husband, Dave of Fayetteville, Garry Parrish and wife, Janet of Eads, TN, Gerald Parrish and wife, Brenda of Mt Juliet, TN, Charles Parrish and wife, Nancy of Goodlettsville, TN, Nadine Huddleston and husband, Mike of Fayetteville and Nedra Crider and husband, Mike of Smithfield, VA; 1~sister, Geneva Doss of Winslow; 11~grandchildren; 15~great-grandchildren and 1~great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2012 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Mr. Bobby Dockery officiating. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 ~ 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Baldwin Church of Christ Track Ministry or Walker Hospice Home.

Mrs. Parrish was such a sweet lady. I spent the night over at Nedra’s house several times growing up and I’ll always remember her parents as very dear people. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family.
What a dear, sweet lady Opal was! Our prayers are with the family. She will surely be missed by many.
I am sorry I was unable to attend the services for Opal. I send you all and especially Dean my heartfelt condolences. I am sure she is holding some of those babies that arrived in Heaven on Friday. We will miss her but she has only gone on before us.. We will see her again soon. Love to all…..Jane
