Pamela Kay (Smithson) Bartel was born December 12, 1958, in Bakersfield, California to Billy and Clara Smithson and passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 peacefully at home in Winslow, Arkansas at the age of 66.
Pam accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in October of 1984 and was baptized in a cold creek by Sulphur City Baptist Church. Pam then spent many years of her life serving at her church. She created multiple programs for children such as Mighty Kids and Sojourners, as well as directing many Vacation Bible School sessions all where children were taught about Jesus while studying the word of God.
Pam’s dedication extended beyond her church community to her family. She worked hard to help provide for them financially and took great joy in being a dedicated mother during the time she was able to stay home with her children.
Pam was married to the love of her life, David Bartel, for 41 years. Pam was a devoted mother to her four children, Angella Ahart, Leona Whittle, Sabrina Smith, and Catrina Anderson. Pam enjoyed being a grandmother to Mitchell Redmond, McKayla Self, Blayden Smith, Grayson Smith, Eli Anderson, Cooper Anderson, and two great-grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her husband, David; four daughters; three sons-in-law; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her mother, Clara Smithson; and brother, Duane Smithson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Smithson; and son-in-law, Mark Ahart.
To celebrate Pam’s life, we will hold services at First Baptist Church West Fork on Saturday, the 1st of November at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
A special thank you to our loving church family who have prayed tirelessly and for the acts of love and kindness they have expressed to our family. The demonstration of Christian love will always be remembered.
Interment will follow in Brentwood Cemetery.
There is no scheduled visitation.
