Philip Anthony Reed Sr, known to everyone as Anthony, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026, at the age of 57. A longtime resident of Fayetteville, AR, Anthony called the community home for more than 30 years.

Anthony was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose kindness and steady presence touched the lives of many. He was known as someone you could always count on-whether you needed help, guidance, or simply someone to listen. He worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family and took pride in doing his best in both his personal and professional life.

For three decades, Anthony worked in the auto industry at various dealerships across Northwest Arkansas, building lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike. Beyond his career, he dedicated over ten years as an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 116, where he mentored young men and helped guide an entire class of twelve scouts to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. His passion for the outdoors and self-sustainability left a lasting impression on the boys he mentored and inspired a love of nature and responsibility that will carry on for generations.

Above all, Anthony was an amazing husband and father. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he found great joy in being there for those he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dessie Anne Reid Reed; his son, Phil Anthony Reed Jr; his brother, Jim Reed; sister-in-law, Sandra Reed; nieces, Jamie Reed and Madison Reed; mother-in-law, Anna Mae Reid; sister-in-law, Nona Nading; brother-in-law, Jeff Nading; and his cousin, Todd Issacks, with whom he shared a daily bond.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bailey Claire Reed; his mother, Nancy White; and his brother, Ken Reed.

A Memorial of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville, AR, officiated by Stephen Schaefer.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family asks that donations be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest or to the Bailey Reed Benevolence Fund at Happy Hollow Elementary School in Fayetteville, AR.

Anthony will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

    Dessie & Philip,

I am so unbelievably sorry for the loss of your best friend. Anyone who met Anthony was immediately made to feel loved, welcomed and supported. He alway stopped to check in on mom, bring over the supper Dessie promised her, make sure she had wine and lend an ear. If you needed something he was there, and always with a smile and hug. The world is dimmer because his light is shining so brightly in Heaven; I know he was received by a welcoming committee as big as his heart. I love you so much-and I loved him so much too. You both are in my prayers, always.
