Dec 17, 2025

Randall “Randy” Harkson passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 72. Randy was born in Lompoc, California on August 30, 1953, to Elizabeth and Helmer Harkson. He grew up in the beautiful town of Solvang, California with his parents and two siblings. Growing up, he loved to surf and explore the canyon beyond his house. Upon graduating high school, Randy enlisted with the U.S. Navy. He was deeply devoted to service of his country and would remain so for the rest of his life. Randy was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1977 and began a career with the United Postal Service. He would eventually leave California and settle down in Farmington, Arkansas, where he met his wife, Pamela Hungate. They lived together in Elkins, Arkansas with their dog, Wallace, until his passing.

Randy lived a life devoted to God above all else. He began every morning by reading his devotionals and spent his days leading a Christian example. He radiated joy in everything he did, and he cherished time spent out on the lake, camping, walking the dog, or just sitting in the backyard every morning with his wife, watching the birds and squirrels while they drank coffee. Randy was a talented musician, particularly on the drums, and loved performing with the local band Chiken Dandy. He also treasured time spent with his wife and their family.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cindy. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Hungate, and her three children, Hannah Hungate, Pearce Hungate, and Chance Hungate. He is also survived by his brother, Skip Harkson, and children, Jeffrey Harkson, Brittney Ebsen, and Amanda Harkson. He is finally survived by all of the friends and family who were lucky enough to know him. The profound loss to those who loved Randy has become Heaven’s gain.
