Robert “Bob” Merrill Gooch, 82 of Farmington died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 3, 1929 in Vinton, Ohio to Robert and Ruby Gooch. He was a graduate of the Hartford High School in Croton, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as an F 86 Fighter jet crew chief with the U. S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Charles R. Gooch and David R. Gooch and sister, Mary Searles. Survivors include his wife of 38 ½ years, Charlene Gooch; 3 daughters, Marilyn Latham of Springdale, Sue Wentworth of Prairie Grove and Jill Gooch and her children of North Carolina; brother, John Gooch and wife Donna of Lexington, South Carolina; granddaughters, Christine Wright and husband Andrew of Prairie Grove and Jeanette Latham of Springdale and great granddaughters Savannah and Abigail. A memorial service will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 with Chaplain Chuck Bengtson officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
