Roy Lee Horne, 90, of Prairie Grove passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born September 17, 1934 in Indian Springs, TN. to James and Nellie Horne.

He had six sisters and five brothers of whom one sister survives him, Mary, from Jonesboro, TN.

Roy was a longtime resident of Strickler, AR. He was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. He married Shirley Puckett as a young man. Together they had one daughter, Donna (now deceased), and three sons, Roy M. Horne, Larry Horne (deceased), and W. Trestley Horne of the Arizona area.

He later married Joyce Schader Brown who had three children, Joyce Carleen Brown (deceased), Gary Kermit Brown, and Cary Brown of the Oklahoma area.

Roy and Joyce have one son, Paul Horne of Prairie Grove, AR. He was fond of his daughter-in-laws, his 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Roy accepted Jesus as his savior in 1972 and was baptized in the Chena River in Alaska. He attended Center Point Church of Prairie Grove.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service-time on Thursday at the funeral home.

There will be no committal service at the cemetery.
