I have so many memories of Sara. When we first moved here, Sara came to the house and said get in. We drove for more than hour around the county with her explaining this or that. Once she turned to me (a few years after we had lived here, and both of us were in the same EHC club.) said, ” It’s a good thing we have each other, we’re the only ones here that aren’t Baptist…..” then launched us into a conversation about how’d she’d back me up if I did whatever it was. She was always the same– blantantly honest. She welcomed you to her porch, she welcomed your conversation, she told you straight out just what she thought. She was quick to help out with learning about quilting… .A quilter, a no nonsense friend, and always, always remembered with a smile. She will be remembered, and missed.

Sara Ed also had 4 sisters in Tennessee which were not even notified of her death. Because of the age differences between Sara Ed and her 4 sisters, and also the distance we lived from each other we were not as close as we would have liked. I always called her on her Birthday and that is how I found out about her death. The last time I talked to her was earlier in the pandemic and she said everyone was getting grouchy from being quarantined. I still have every letter she wrote to me and always enjoy re-reading them. She had a way with words. She will be remembered and missed.
