He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda and a brother, Paul.
Sarge was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. One of his earliest assignments in the Army was guarding Nazi war criminals awaiting execution in Nuremberg, Germany at the end of WWII. He served two combat tours in Korea and one in Vietnam.
Sarge never retired from the Army of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3-4).
He blessed so many with his harmonica. He always had an encouraging word and an infectious smile.
Sarge is survived by his three children, Cathy (Don) Sain of Bentonville, AR, Steven (Janet) Sullivan of Hazel Valley, AR and Lynn (Cathy) Sullivan of Farmington, UT. His legacy includes 40 children from “grands” to “great-great-grands”.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Ridgeview Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service-time at the church on Saturday.
Interment will be in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.

Sarge will be missed, as well as his harmonica playing. I know he is enjoying himself in Heaven, now though, and We will see him again, one day. Sorry for your loss. We love you guys.

Sarge was a prime example of a fine Christian man. I first met him when I went to his home in Texas where I stayed during the trip when I had the privilege of playing the organ for Steven’s wedding. I am sensitive to spicy foods, and I remember his making scrambled eggs for breakfast — into which he put a large amount of hot sauce. If my memory is correct, I had corn flakes….. It has been a great privilege to know him as a great friend for many years.
The sweetest man l ever new!
Grandpa is absolutely one of the most amazing and honorable men I will ever know. Other than the way Jesus lived his life, Grandpa’s is one to emulate and strive for. And I will count myself very blessed if I end up being 1/4 of the man Grandpa is. And I am forever grateful and proud to be named after this most incredible and wonderful man. Thank you so very much Mom and Dad. We’ll see you soon Grandpa.

What a blessing this man has been to our lives and he has left a legacy that is unsurpassed. He will be truly missed on Earth, but Heaven has gained a saint,
He was a man to be honored for his service to God and Country and we will cherish his memory.
Bless you for your service to our country. You are not forgotten.
Dear Steve and family
I remember Sarge fondly. He and I played WHISPERING HOPE together, me on piano, he and his harmonica. He was always so warm and friendly. I’d say – good to see you! And he’d reply – Good to be seen! Well beloved Sarge, now Jesus said – Good to see you My son! And he replied –
