It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Donald Carter on January 21, 2025. He was born on September 28, 1956 in Long Beach, California to Harriet and William Carter.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two sisters, MaryAnn and Suzanne.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Velda Marie Carter; his 3 children, Dora, Jeremy and Justin; 3 grandsons Stephen Amador, Nathan Amador and Blake Hampton; and his 9 great-grandchildren.

Stephen also loved his niece and nephew Jessica Wright and Jeffrey Carter.

He served in the Army from 1973-1977, and he was a surveyor and carpenter by trade.

Above all, Stephen Carter was cherished by family and friends and was known for being a dedicated and loving father, husband and grandfather.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
