Ted Melcher, 75, of Huntsville, died March 18, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born May 15, 1941 in Chicago, IL. to Harry David and Alice Leona Goodenow Melcher.

Ted was a machinist for the city of Chicago.

He enjoyed outdoor sports and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his wife,Linda Stewart Melcher whom he married March 22, 1958 in Huntsville; two sons, Harry D. Melcher and Donald E. Melcher, both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Pamela S. Hermes and husband, Robert of Arlington Heights, IL; and two grandchildren, Bobby John Melcher and Lisa Marie Muskat.

No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

    My condolences to the entire family. I was fortunate to have worked with Ted at 37th St & at the end of our careers at 101st, Every day was filled with laughs & we even managed to get some equipment repaired. I remember St Patty’s parades & fishing excursions on Lake Michigan. He’ll be missed
