Theodore (Ted) L. Beeler, age 92, of Springdale passed away on September 19, 2020.  He was born May 27, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Mary A. Beeler and Theodore G. Beeler.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise (Brink); sons, Alvin (wife Annette) and Ramon (wife Mary); grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Regena and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Eowyn, Shane and Tyler.

He joined the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1946 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal in 1949.  He then attended the University of Arkansas majoring in Electrical Engineering graduating in 1953. In 1960, he earned a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Newark College of Engineering while working for Bell Telephone Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ.  In 1961, he moved to New Hartford, NY to work for General Electric.  While there, he became a licensed Professional Engineer.

In 1973, he retired from General Electric and returned to Fayetteville, AR and went to work for the Arkansas Educational Network.  In 1979, he joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Arkansas where he worked until he retired in 1992.

During his time with Bell Telephone Laboratories, General Electric and the University of Arkansas, he received several patents and co-authored several scientific publications.

Ted was a beloved husband and father and his family will miss his guidance and presence.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 5 – 7 pm at Beard’s Funeral Chapel, 855 South Happy Hollow Road, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 2 pm at Shumate Cemetery, Durham, AR under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
