Thomas Garner, 74 of Farmington died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1938 in York, Nebraska to Willey and Esthu Garner. He served in the U.S Army for 25 years and retired as Sargent First Class where he served two tours in Vietnam. He also worked for the U.S Post Office in Fort Smith for 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Yong Garner of the home; son, Sam Garner and wife Hanh Bui of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Betty Garner and husband Joshua Carlsen of Germany, Amy Justice and husband Christopher of Allen, Texas and Mona Garner of Austin, Texas; two daughters Carole and Lynn; brother, Allen Garner of Joplin, Missouri; sister, Helen of Geneva, Nebraska; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. Private burial will be at held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my dad, Suk I hope and prayer for comfort for you and your family at this time. I had not had the priveledge of seeing or talking with Dad for some time, but Carole always kept me posted on how you all were doing.
