Thomas Wayne Hatfield (“Tom”) of Fayetteville, AR passed away on December 11, 2021. He was born on March 17, 1963 in Oak Park, IL to Thomas A. Hatfield and Nancy L. Hatfield.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas A. Hatfield of Maywood, Illinois and one sister Kay Ellen Hatfield-Pelot of Lawrence, Kansas.
Tom has worked at Airways Freight Corporation for over 33 years. Until his diagnosis of cancer in November 2016, he never called in sick or missed a day of work. To Tom, Airways was family not simply a job or his career. Even during cancer treatments, he was often seen wearing Airways attire, because Airways was always with him.
He returned to college after many years to earn his bachelor’s and MBA degrees, with distinction, from John Brown University. This was a significant milestone in his life and an achievement of which he and his family were very proud.
Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darlene Hatfield of Fayetteville, AR; two sons: Thomas A. Hatfield II of Russellville, AR & Courtney Hatfield of Russellville, AR, Timothy W. Hatfield of Sherman Oaks, CA & Jennifer R. Hatfield of Sherman Oaks, CA; four (soon to be five) grandchildren: Taylor, Reece, Thomas, and Trevor (and soon, Elin) Hatfield; his mother, Nancy L. Hatfield of Elkhart, IN; and two sisters: Lou Ann Dwyer of Midlothian, VA, and Debbie Nalian of Berwyn, IL.
Scheduled visitation is on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Beard’s Funeral Chapel on S. Happy Hollow Rd in Fayetteville.
Wednesday, December 15, 2021 memorial services at 1:30pm at the Bentonville Church of Christ on Walton Blvd.

I was so very sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. I worked with him as a vendor for many years. We loved arguing about whose pickup truck was better. (His was)
I am praying for comfort for his family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom’s family both at home and at work. He always had a smile on his face when I would see him. He was a fighter, never ready or willing to give in to anything he was fighting at the time. There is going to be a big hole in my heart that he filled from the first time I met him.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin Tommy. We had just kind of reconnected at Thanksgiving, and it was nice. My prayers are with the Hatfield family, as you all go through this difficult time. You have my deepest sympathy.

Tom was always a happy, friendly face when he would come for his treatments at Highlands. I was so saddened to hear of his passing and my prayers are with his entire family. I will miss our visits and him passing me a candy bar when he was there. He was a gentle soul and I am glad I had the opportunity to get to know him.
