Toney Willis Bowers, 71, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springdale, Arkansas on January 15, 1955.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Luna Bowers; his brother Aaron; and his sister Jeannie.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis; his sons Brandon and Christopher; his brother Wayne; his sister Mary Eva; and several nieces and nephews.

Toney loved America, eagles, and he loved serving in the Arkansas Army National Guard where he retired as an E-5 Sergeant. He loved being outside and loved listening to music (Barry Manilow was his favorite). Toney was a big fan of John Wayne. He was a good husband, father, brother, and son.

He will be remembered for his laid back and humorous presence with everyone he knew.

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Joel Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

There is no scheduled visitation.

As for toney he always cracked me up he should have always had the dad jokes award. He was a super kind man very caring. He loved his family dearly. Always had a great gift to joke with ya.

    The best clown at a 1 year olds Birthday party that there ever was or will be. I have very fond memories of my sweet funny Uncle. He will be missed. To my Aunt and Cousins. I’m always thinking about you and hope you are well. I’m truly sorry for this loss.
