V. Charlene Royal, 89, of Springdale, died December 22, 2016 at The Maple’s. She was born January 7, 1927 in West Fork to Roy and Gladys Caughman Mills. Charlene was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Goshen. She worked in the cafeteria at the University of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Royal and sister, Lucille Nolan.
She is survived by son, James Royal of Prairie Grove and daughter, Melissa Hudson of Springdale; two brothers, George Underhill Jr of Springdale and Rex Underhill of Winslow; two sisters, Helen Strode of Strickler, AR and Maxine Mullinex of Springdale; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
